Product DescriptionBalsa Strop is an efficient way of final polishing a cutting edge using an ApexEdge Pro sharpener etc. A balsa strop enhances the cutting edge by correctingsmall nicks and smoothing grooves. The working surface is made of polishedbalsa wood mounted on a high-quality aluminum blank.Balsa strops holds a diamond stropping compound well, which makes it possibleto use it for polishing cutting edges with diamond stropping (or any) compoundapplied to it.Balsa is the softest and lightest of all commercial woods - nothing else comesclose to it. Balsa keeps its flatness better than leather and prevents theblade becoming convex when used on abrasive compounds.Working with balsa is like working with leather. Gently slide the cutting edgeover the strop, repeating 20-30 times for each side of the blade. The motionshould avoid damaging the balsa with the cutting edge.
