Description*2CD-RFollowing their first performance in Japan in February 1978, the band held a series of seven consecutive shows at the Los Angeles Universal Amphitheater in June, prior to their European tour. This live performance, recorded on June 7th, the final day of the tour, is now available for the first time in its entirety as a super-high-quality audience recording from the first-generation master recording by world-renowned taper Mike Millard.
This recording is a completely different master from Mike Millard\'s previously released \"LOS ANGELES 1978 - LAST NIGHT-\" on JM-229, recorded at the same location using different equipment. This release includes the three tracks \"A Hard Rain\'s A-Gonna Fall,\" \"Love Her With A Feeling,\" and \"Baby Stop Crying,\" which were missing at the beginning. Unfortunately, the final track, \"The Times They Are A-Changin\',\" was missing, so this is a complete recording version using a different master (JM-229).
Though the atmosphere and texture are different, both recordings are captured with exceptional clarity and directness, with exceptional separation. They\'re both so incredibly beautiful, it\'s hard to believe that audience recordings from the 1970s could have such a great sound.
This was a warm-up live performance prior to the European tour, which began on June 15th. The basic rhythm section arrangement remains the same as on the official \"Budokan\" album and the upcoming 18th studio album, \"Street Legal.\" However, Bob Dylan\'s incredibly powerful vocal performance, more refined with this band, is truly shocking.
