Beautiful authentic 1940s girls’ party dress with two-generations family history For Sale

This dress originally belonged to my mother, who is now almost 86 years old. It was her special party dress when she was a little girl in the 1940s. Years later, I also wore it as a child. After being carefully preserved for approximately 80 years, I would love to pass it along for another family to enjoy and treasure.The dress is made from a delicate, sheer ivory fabric scattered with tiny pink flowers and green accents. It features extensive pink hand-smocking across the bodice, a rounded Peter Pan collar, short puffed sleeves, a full gathered skirt, and buttons down the back. A separate white ruffled slip is included underneath to give the skirt its beautiful fullness and “poof.”The sewn-in label appears to read “Youngland – N.Y.C.”Please note that the pale pink ribbon currently worn around the waist is not original to the dress. It is the ribbon I wore with it when I was a little girl, and it will be included.The exact size is unknown, but it appears suitable for approximately a 4- to 5-year-old child.
