Blush Orchid – Original Watercolor Flower Painting – The Garden Portraits – 4x6
From my new series, “The Garden Portraits.”
This original 4 x 6 inch watercolor study features a delicate blush-pink orchid presented as an intimate botanical portrait. Soft pink and cream washes describe the broad petals while the intricate center receives greater attention and contrast. A muted sage-green watercolor wash surrounds the bloom, allowing the pale flower to emerge naturally from the paper.
Visible graphite drawing remains throughout the work, preserving the construction of the flower beneath the transparent watercolor and giving the piece the character of a traditional botanical study.
