Exceptional bookmatched maple burl slab set with heavy figure, curl, spalting and incredible natural character.
Each half measures approximately:
16\" x 11\" x 7/8\"
Opened as a bookmatch, the pair spans approximately 22\" wide at the maximum dimensions.
These two slabs were consecutively cut and open into a dramatic mirrored pair. The set has outstanding figure throughout, including tight curl, burl figure, spalting, natural voids and live burl edges.
The natural inclusions, voids and irregular edges are part of the burl and can make this an especially interesting piece for resin work or projects that preserve the natural character.
Excellent material for a statement box or cabinet panel, wall art, resin projects, instrument work, furniture accents or other high-end woodworking.
Surfaces have been sanded and sprayed with alcohol in the photos to highlight the grain and figure.
