Yes, I know. I could hardly believe it either. I had thought I had seen the last of these: original promo tee for Rembrandt Pussyhorse, 1986. Now, I still have another one which is every bit as dope--gray, widely coveted with a great back hit of the band--but this one is extra special because it\'s indisputably original. I\'ve owned and sold a couple in the past, but they never last, and so I\'m not expecting--despite the hefty price tag--to own this till I croak (which could arguably be any day now). So, a couple of things right off the bat. This is certainly a Hanes 50/50: all the originals were, and judging by the way it fits me, it could only be a large (which makes it a modern-day medium at best: see pics for measurements). Just like the other ones I\'ve owned, it\'s soft as a baby\'s butt, slinky as all get-out, with a vintage Hanes \"hang\" that simply doesn\'t exist anymore unless it\'s the real deal. (Someone removed the tag deftly, with great care, but we can still make out what the length of it was, which tracks exactly with the \"ghost\" that remains here: see pics for an \"insert\" from one of my other listings). And it\'s amazingly well-preserved. There are a few negligeable stains that don\'t detract at all from the appeal (again, see pics), and one small \"nub\" near the collar that doesn\'t even qualify as a hole or a run (just a small, almost indecipherable \"clump\" that barely even reads). Regardless, there are no more of these out there: this is it, and for now, it\'s mine, with which I\'m perfectly content. You know, when a piece of merch like this would have been (in a limited way) distributed, the Buttholes were known for touring relentlessly. I caught them whenever they came through Boston, once at the Channel in the late 80s and then again at (I think) the Middle East. They had the two drummers then, King Coffey and Teresa Nervosa, and the movie screen behind them, upon which they projected a series of increasingly disturbing images (eye operations, sex change operations, etc.). How they got that footage, pre-internet, is anyone\'s guess. The shows back then were an all-out assault on your senses: loud as f*ck, strobe lights, sweaty bodies all packed together, all of us tripping on one thing or another--it was totally nuts. So, suffice it to say, I was pretty damned psyched to have acquired one of these once again. Single stitched, of course, surely the only one left in circulation--a true collector\'s dream. Buttholes fans who can afford something like this are few and far between, for sure, I understand; and if I could list it cheaper, I would. If you can count on anything, it\'s my integrity as a collector/seller (literally no one else on has over 100 more followers than items sold: I\'m the genuine article). So snag it if you can. If not, that\'s cool with me. Indisputably, trippingly dope.
