KARPEN FURNISHINGS ARE FOUND IN MUSEUMS AND INSTITUTIONS, BEING PIONEERS IN THE HOME FURNISHING SECTOR. THIS IS A COLLECTOR\'S PIECE. A very rare find of this antique Karpen leather desk. Adorned with large solid brass nailhead trim, it features clean lines in its column legs, and throughout its silhouette. The wood is solid mahogany, very heavy and substantial. It was in one family for generations, before being acquired for the first time on the secondary market, with the intention of a little facelift to bring it back to its splendor. This did not happen, so here is your opportunity to own a piece of design history. Please see all photos. The wood base is solid, the leather top has markings, with the underlayment (not the wood) \"loose\". The brass will easily polish up (though I personally love the patina). There is one nailhead missing which is an easy replacement.
**Last 6 photos are of Karpen\'s catalogue from 1908, first of those showing the desk in \"An Attractive Modern Library\". This desk was also featured in their 1906 catalogue. Photos courtesy of Robert Mcnutt.
