Up for sale is a complete vintage 1947 fine art portfolio titled Cézanne: 10 Water Colors, published by Pantheon Books Inc. in New York and printed by master printer Albert Carman.
This portfolio features all 10 original facsimile plates reproducing Paul Cézanne's celebrated watercolor works. Each plate is printed on heavy stock and captures the delicate transparency, brushstrokes, and vibrant tones of the originals.
Condition Details:
Outer Portfolio / Folder: Shows noticeable age-appropriate wear (as shown in photos). The original cloth/paper portfolio casing has splitting/chipping along the spine edge and structural wear.
Prints / Plates (All 10 Included): In good vintage condition overall. The printed artwork areas remain bright and crisp. The outer blank borders display expected age toning, faint yellowing, and minor foxing/time-stains around the edges consistent with paper from 1947.
Notes for Framing: The age toning on the borders is largely localized to the margins and can easily be hidden by standard custom matting when framing, or kept exposed for an authentic antique aesthetic.
