Under the pines the thatched pavilion is cool in the fifth month;
sandy islets and cloud-wrapped trees turn dark and vast at dusk.
The traveler feels boundless autumn-wind longing;
the green mountains across the water look like home.
The incised landscapes (pines, pavilion, water, distant hills, trees) illustrate the poem.
