Bring literary adventure to your walls with these original 1978 David McCall Johnston color lithographs: Around the World in Eighty Days and Journey to the Centre of the Earth. An elephant procession, explorers traveling by raft and intricately imagined landscapes give this pair plenty to discover up close.
Published by Franklin Mint for the 150th anniversary of Jules Verne’s birth, these are two designs from the four-print commemorative series. Both are pencil-signed by Johnston and presented under glass in matching brown wood frames with coordinating matting. A distinctive pair for a study, reading room, hallway or vintage-inspired interior.

Each frame measures approximately 26 inches wide × 21 inches high, including the frame. The price is for BOTH framed prints, sold together as one lot.
These were inherited from my great-aunt, who lived in Washington, D.C., traveled widely and maintained a small art collection. I am now offering the pair for another home to enjoy.
Both display attractively. The frames show light handling wear, the matting has age toning and small marks, and the rear paper dust covers show tears and abrasions. They have been examined through the glass only and have not been removed from their frames. No separate certificates are included.
