Why Use a Flex Shaft Drain Cleaner?
A traditional drain snake (also called a drain auger or sewer snake) is designed to restore flow by punching a hole through a blockage.
A flex shaft drain cleaner serves a different purpose. Rather than simply creating an opening, it spins a high-speed chain knocker against the inside wall of the pipe, removing grease, sludge, soap buildup, scale, and other deposits while restoring the pipe closer to its original inside diameter.
A pipe that has only been opened with a drain snake often still has buildup coating the pipe walls, making it much more likely to clog again.
