Here's an extremely rare find! This is a 19th Century silk Tobiran from the Philippines.In traditional Philippine culture, a tobiran is a narrow, horizontally woven decorative tapestry strip (langkit) used by the Maranao people of Mindanao to join the panels of a traditional wraparound garment called a malong. Approx 3 inches by 65 inches.
