Between 1963 and 1970, a metal working company called Tri-Bro Manufacturing that primarily made metal jewelry produced these keys blanks in their plant in Rhode Island. They were to be sold to Curtis Keys in Eastlake, OH for distribution. At the beginning of the run, these sample were sent to Curtis for packaging approval, but were never stamped on the back with the part number (1301-1354 without keychain, or 1601-1654 with keychain), and the the corresponding vehicles they were fitted for.
Most of my other key blanks for sale are also from Tri-Bro, but were never carded and were left over stock in their warehouse. But THESE factory samples were sent to Curtis, but never sold. The packaging is all original, including the plastic shrink-wrap carding with included blank and keychain and the keys inside are in mint condition.
The blanks are brass, yellow-gold plated and hand painted. I have documentation from the company including business letters describing the hand-painting process and the people that were employed to do it.
I highly recommend you do not purchase these for actual use in your classic vehicle because of the nature of it being a sealed factory sample, and instead take a look at my store for the open box blanks I sell individually. To the point where I'm not even putting an application guide for fitment for the 3 shown here. This lot I recommend for an historical collector who is interested in the manufacturing processes of the 1960s and wants to store or display these as a preservation of that process. I believe they are extremely rare in that every other classic emblem key blank produced by the companies that did so at that time period have the stampings on the back of the card.
