These are fresh cut stems, but the Cryptocoryne will have roots. Hygrophila, Pogostemon, and Ludwigia work best as background plants. The Cryptocoryne is a great foreground to midground plant.
These will all grow without co2. I suggest using root tabs or liquid fertilizer if you use an inert substrate.
These will show their best coloration under medium or higher light.
