FINE ANTIQUE 19th C. CHINESE CARVED & PIERCED HARDWOOD WOOD POT VASE COVER QING For Sale

A Very Good Antique Chinese Carved Hardwood Pot / Vase Cover
Date: c. early - mid 19th century, Qing Dynasty.
A lovely old, authentic object; pot covers like this don't turn up too often.
The main body skilfully carved in the round with a pierced design of stylised clouds and ruyi, set between turned lower and upper boarders. The uppermost surface with a pierced 'endless knot'.
Uncleaned and with an exceptional surface patina, with old polish, accumulated dust and a mellow surface which only years of handling and use can achieve. Good rich hues emerging from some of the more exposed edges, as shown.
Gorgeous object.
Buyers, please note:I have another similar lid for sale - that one with a 'cash' design to the top but the body has more repair work and losses than this one - so it provides a cheaper option for you if necessary.Approximate Dimensions:

Condition:
Good and presenting very well, but not perfect.
There appears to be an old, very small repair to a section of the pierced design (pretty much invisible to the exterior, but appearing as a slight blemish to the interior). Please see the last photo where I've shown a close up.
There is a tight, old, age-related split (not opened) to the main circular base, mainly visible to the underside. This is not a repair, but just an age-related issue.
There is also an old surface scratch / mark to the upper exterior ring which enclosed the central 'endless knot'. Again, please see the relevant photo.
The item is uncleaned and displays an exceptional old patina.
