Portrait Miniature of a Young Lady, Empire Period, c. 1810–1815Dear collectors,Noblesse-Collectionis pleased to propose you thisparticularly fine Frenchportraitminiature of an elegant lady, dating circa 1810–1815, during the French Empire period.
The sitter is portrayed bust-length against a deep brown background, wearing an elegant whiteEmpiredress with a low neckline. Her dark hair is arranged in finely painted curls framing theforehead, in a fashion characteristic of the period.
The portrait is distinguished by the exceptional refinement of its execution. The face is modelledwith remarkable delicacy, particularly in the subtle transitions of the complexion, the expressiveeyes and the extremely fine treatment of the features.
Of particular interest is the artist\'s use of very fine stippling, clearly visible under magnificationin the modelling of the flesh tones. This sophisticated technique, combined with the overall qualityof the portrait, places the miniature stylistically within the circle of the leading French miniaturistsactive during the Empire period, recalling the work of artists such as Jean-Urbain Guérin,Jean-Baptiste Jacques Augustin and Jean-Baptiste Isabey. The miniature is unsigned, however,and no specific attribution is proposed.
The portrait is preserved in an elegant period marquetry wooden frame decorated with delicatefloralmotifs and fitted with a gilt-metal oval inner surround.

Condition: The miniature itself is in excellent antique condition. The painted surface is remarkablywell preserved, with no significant defects visible and with the exceptionally fine details and stippledmodelling of the portrait remaining crisp and clearly legible. The period marquetry frame shows someage-related cracks and minor wear, as visible in the photographs. Please examine the photographscarefully as they form an integral part of the condition description.
