Framed Original New Yorker Cartoon Drawing June 6 1977 Henry Martin
This is an original, hand-drawn cartoon by celebrated New Yorker illustrator Henry Martin (signed H. Martin in the lower right). It is a unique piece of original ink and wash artwork, not a print.
The drawing was created for the June 6, 1977 issue of The New Yorker. It features a graveyard scene depicting a humorous contrast between two neighboring headstones: one for an eccentric man claiming many grandiose titles, and one for his "long-suffering" wife.
The original artwork is professionally matted alongside the corresponding blue New Yorker magazine masthead from that same 1977 issue. It is housed in a vintage black frame with gold inner trim.
Please inspect the multiple pictures closely to evaluate the details of the linework, ink washes, and the condition of the frame and matting. The item shown in the photos is the exact original piece you will receive.
