Vibrant art reproduced from an antique 1912 postcard published by John Winsch. Artwork by the fabulous "Golden Age" artist Samuel Loren Schmucker. The scene depicts a traditional Halloween matchmaking superstition where a person looks into a mirror by candlelight at midnight to glimpse the reflection of their future spouse. These crazy-popular postcards were actually printed in Germany, which produced the very best chromolithography in the world at that time. During this "Golden Age of Postcards" (1900-1918) thousands of these colorful, embossed, and gilded cards were exchanged at every available occasion, and remain highly sought-after collector's items to this day.

Semi-interlocking; serrated border and extensive color-line cutting; pieces individually hand-polished for smoothness
Cut from 1/4" thick mahogany-veneer plywood (MDF core)
Matte finish for minimal glare; back side finished and polyurethane protected; SIGNED with serial number, year, and my initials (TWA)
Very challenging due to extreme CLC (and NO guide picture!)
