they do work BUT the back of the christmas tree does not light up. you can not tell from the front. there is some discoloration of the snow. spots with yellow tint. I have taken pictures to show all the flaws so please view. Overall it is a nice little set if the flaws do not bother you. hard to see flaws when lights are going off. sold as is.
