Registered as N747ER, it was delivered on June 2002 to test and certify the 747-400 Program. This was the first 747-400ER (Extended Range) - it participated in extensive flight testing of new technologies including winglets, updated engines (powered by General Electric GE CF6-80C2B5 engines), and avionics improvements over earlier 747 variants. N747ER helped validate performance, handling, and operational characteristics for airline customers, performing route-proving missions and systems verification flights. After completing its primary test role, N747ER was redesignated as VH-OEE and flew for Qantas Airlines until June of 2020. She is currently at the Mojave Desert for long-term storage. The aircraft had flown 80,380 hours with 7,419 cycles on entering storage
