A gorgeous vintage box-style handbag in glossy black patent leather, featuring a stunning amber/tortoise Lucite top handle and gold-tone frame hardware with a push-clasp closure. The structured rectangular shape and clean lines are quintessential 1950s design. Interior is fully lined in cream moiré fabric, stamped with a partial maker’s mark reading “JR” (additional lettering present but not fully legible — see photos).
This piece was my grandmothers, believed purchased in the 1950s — a wonderful example of mid-century handbag craftsmanship with real sentimental and collector value.
