An unusual miniature Japanese ginbari cloisonné vase dating to the early 20th century. The vase features translucent enamel over shimmering textured silver foil, graduating from vivid green at the shoulder through pearly white to pale blue near the base.
The central decoration depicts Kannon (Kwannon), the Buddhist Bodhisattva of Compassion, portrayed in flowing lavender, green, and gold ceremonial robes. A sacred byakugō mark appears between her eyebrows. Fine wirework defines the figure and complements the sparkling foil ground.
Finished with metal rims at the mouth and base. A beautiful and highly decorative example of Japanese ginbari enamel work in a charming miniature size.

Condition:
Very good condition for its age. The enamel remains bright and complete, with no obvious enamel loss or visible restoration. Under very close inspection, a faint, thin internal line is visible beneath the enamel on the lower body. The surface remains smooth, and the line cannot be felt with a fingernail; it may be an original firing or internal stress line. Expected tarnishing and age-related wear are present on the metal rims. Please examine all photographs carefully.
