Appearance & Included Items:
This is an authentic Japanese Kogo (incense container) used in the Japanese tea ceremony (chado). It comes with its original signed wooden box (tomobako).
About the wooden box
This is a tomobako - a wooden box made for this piece, with the signature of the maker written on the lid. In Japan the box is not packaging; it is part of the object, and the signature is how the piece is identified. A piece that has lost its box is valued considerably lower than one that still has it.
