Johnny Mathis Swing Softly LP Vinyl Record Columbia CL 1165 Big Band SONICCLN For Sale

Released in 1958 with lush arrangements by Percy Faith, Swing Softly represented a pivotal moment in Johnny Mathis\'s early career. Coming right on the heels of his smash success with romantic ballads (Wonderful! Wonderful!, It\'s Not for Me to Say), this album showcased Mathis\'s versatility by proving he could handle upbeat, swinging big band jazz arrangements while retaining his signature smooth crooning style.

While not a dramatic departure into hard-bop, Swing Softly cemented Mathis as a dominant pop/jazz crossover artist capable of balancing dynamic rhythm with effortless vocal control, solidifying his status as an album-era powerhouse.
