This is a silver gelatin photograph that is unmounted and is approximately 10 x 8 inches (254x203mm).

It shows an aerial view of the KTLA 5 Telecopter flying over the Chicago skyline. The helicopter, marked \"Ktla 5 telecopter\" on its side, is captured in flight above a dense urban landscape featuring high-rise buildings and extensive railway tracks. Visible signage on the buildings includes \"Standard\" on a tall structure to the left and \"Ibm\" on a building in the foreground.

The reverse features a typed caption slip titled \"This above all\" and dated \"22nd March, 1959\". The caption identifies the location as Chicago, Illinois, and describes the aircraft as \"The world\'s only flying television station\" owned by station KTLA in Los Angeles, noting it is transmitting while soaring over the city during the National Association of Broadcasters Convention. There is also a purple stamp for \"Planet News Ltd\" with a London address.
