This Alisam Engineering indexing system is designedfor larger wood lathes and is a complete \"universal\"system for indexing on most10 to 24 inch lathes with a 1 1/4\" inch spindle!
The system consists of a10 inch*, extensively laser engraved, anodized aluminum plate with a 1 1/4\" inch center ID spindle hole,with NOW 4 concentric rows of indexing holes,at 2 1/2°, 3°, 4° & 22 1/2° indexing positions. This combination allows the user to adjust for virtually any position around the circumference of your turning!Included is aheavy aluminumbase with 2 very, very strong, 3/4 inch diameter \"rare-earth\" magnets to secure the bracket to your cast iron/steelbed ways, (also has a threaded 1/4 X 20 tpi hole for those who wish to attach it more permanently to your lathe orto a wooden wooden jig),a\"dog point\" indexing spring pin and a 1 1/4\" inch X 8 tpi threaded jam nutto secure the indexing plate on your spindle. You may also secure the plate to the spindle with your lathe\'s chuck or faceplate. The bracket is easily removed when not using the index plate.

A very small number of lathes have a spindle that has a “threadrelief” or recess beyond the threaded portion of the spindle before it goesinto the headstock casting. If you have this type of spindle you will need tomake/turn a spacer to allow the indexing plate to center on the spindle. TheGRIZZLY G0632, DELTA 46-755 & 46-715, POWEREMATIC 3520 B, are lathes withthis situation that we know about so far but there may be others. So check yourspindle first!
