The vibrant and intricate design of this highly decorative prayer rug indicates that it is of Anatolian (Turkish) origin and that it hails most likely from Ladik or Konyan. Mihrab designs such as this feature a classic step-arched niche iconography and traditional spandrel motifs, such as pitcher/ewer motifs, known as ibrik.
This rug has a soft patina and abrash dye variations and dating to the late 19th century it and at approx. 100–130 years old and it has the expected small areas of wear, however is still very useable and has masses of authentic country house charm.
Perfect for beside a bed or in any room in the house to add a little colour and character. This rug also has handing flasp Sio it can be wall hung.
