Listed American Artist Joseph Sloman (1883-?) Signed, on lower right, this Verdant Rural Landscape w/ House. It is an Original Oil on Canvas, c. early 1900\'s. It depicts a lush rural landscape with a small red house (at left) nestled on one of the gently rolling hills. The sky is amazing, depicted in blues, purples and creams and white clouds. Warm color palette and craquelure (tiny network of cracks in the surface paint or varnish) give this piece real character, as does the, possibly, original frame - Great Pairing!2 1/2\" Wide, Hand-worked, Antiqued Gold, Reverse moulding with Closed corners (finished after joining, resulting in a seamlessly decorated corner) and a delicate spiral design leading to a small scoop. We believe the frame is original to the piece.Canvas measures 24 X 30 and is in Good to Very Good condition w/ a professional repair on reverse - see last two images. No sign of any damage from the front.Outside measure of the frame is 28 1/2 X 34 1/2 and is in Good Antique condition w/ minor loss of corner decoration, some dirt?, and signs of handling.Please carefully examine all images for condition.Shipping charge includes Delivery Insurance.
