This is a laboratory grown emerald — grown beryl, chemically and optically the samematerial as natural emerald, created rather than mined. Verify the report free at igi.org usingthe report number.Two things make this one worth a look. The hexagonal step cut is unusual — most labemerald is cut as standard emerald-cut rectangles. And an IGI report on a lab emerald isuncommon; most lab colored stones ship with no independent paperwork at all.At 12.14mm long it\'s a substantial stone. Vivid saturated green with the clarity you rarely seein natural emerald at this size or anywhere near this price.Loose and unset.
A note on the photos: the main images and video were shot under daylight-balancedlighting (~5000K). The size-reference photo with the penny was taken under indoorfluorescent light, which reads warmer and darker.
