The original length was 489 yards I don't know how much was ever cut off. The original spool put-up measures 7inches tall and measures 2 inches deep. The spool weighs 15.6 oz. outside of the box.
I did a burn test on the cut end. It is either a polyester cotton blend or polyester only. The end did burn but left a tiny bead. It did burn instead of roll up in a melt. I left a hot iron on the end as well and it did not give off that poly odor.
