Item Description:Up for sale is a visually commanding, large-scale vintage African reliquary guardian figure (Mbulu Ngulu), rendered in the traditional artistic style of the Kota people of Gabon. Standing an impressive22 inches tall and 11 inches wide, this heavy, substantial piece makes a brilliant cultural focal point.The front features a highly stylized, geometric face meticulously sheeted in hand-hammered brass and copper plates. The metalwork is richly decorated with hand-stamped textures, raised linear patterns, and traditional circular eye/cheek bosses held together with small metal tacks.
