After a popular historical illustration of the Princess Lamballe, this rendition is really quite superb and true to the original and the woman, herself. Marie-Thérèse Louise of Savoy, Princesse de Lamballe (Italian: Maria Teresa Luisa; 8 September 1749 – 3 September 1792), a member of the Courts of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette. Extremely beautiful in her time, She was married at the age of 17 to Louis Alexandre de Bourbon-Penthièvre, Prince de Lamballe, the heir to the greatest fortune in France. Ill fated, even so, she was killed in the massacres of September 1792 during the French Revolution. A person with a most interesting history and life, even so. The artist has signed the work, but remember it is a tribute rendition after the c.1700s painting/illustration, and created as a tourist\'s souvenir, the artist will not be a listed artist. Very appealing, it probably had an ostrich down powder puff with it. Nearly 5\" in diameter, impossible to consider it as a snuff box. Full measurements noted on the photos. Very good to excellent, I really can\'t find a flaw to note. The burl wood is solid, not veneer, and so the box is rather heavy and very beautiful inside and out. The painting is beautifully done, an adept artist capturing a person and painting most of us recognize.

We most often use USPS for our shipping needs but will be happy to ship by another carrier if you prefer.
We charge only actual postage & insurance, never a handling fee and never for packaging materials. The shipping price, speed and handling are actually under the sole control of the delivering postal agency, not Antiques & Uncommon Treasure. As always, please also feel free to contact us if you have any problems or concerns, we\'ll do what we can to ensure a happy and mutually enjoyable transaction.
We always insure our items BUT, more importantly, pack them extremely well knowing that most are not replaceable. Again, damage in transit, while rare in our experience, is due to the postal agency handling and not caused by Antiques & Uncommon Treasure. Thanks!
Our shipping days are usually Monday and Friday though we do our best to ship within one to two days once paid. Otherwise, paid items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is received (except when special circumstances exist). We prefer to use USPS whenever possible, and require all packages to be insured. If you prefer another method of shipment, please mention it. We charge only actual expense of shipment/insurance, except in the case of larger items which must have special wood crates built. Wood crate charge, when applicable, is a flat $35.00 in addition to actual postage & insurance charges.

Sales tax is now calculated by based on your particular location. If you are within CA and are a dealer buying for resale, you must provide with your active resale certificate # and acknowledgment of intent to resell. No exceptions.
