Born 1955 in USSR Belarus to a shoe maker and a factory worker, Leonid Afremov pioneered a career online becoming one of the most recognizable artists of our modern time.
Graduated 1978 from the Vitebsk Art School, moved to Israel in 1990, then the USA in 2002- Afremov spent the early years of his career building his talents and perfecting his signature style. His technique of painting impasto with palette knives give his works a three-dimensional effect. The bold strokes of the palette knife in vibrant complementary colors, creates a sense of movement and emotion across the canvas.
When Afremov brought this unique style online in 2004 to .com, he found wild success and creative freedom from financial pressures. His art is known for the joyous and positive tones they bring to the viewer, inspired by the optimist-artist’s own memories and emotions.
Afremov passed away on August 19, 2019, leaving behind a rich legacy of artwork.
