Lionel 257 issued in 1930. Bought this as non-running rusted junk with a bad wheel and broken drive gears. Could not make it around the track--but the motor ran just fine. As of now: purchased and installed new drive wheel and drive gears. Engine lights and runs forward-only (as designed). Shell has been stripped. All brass trim is in place. Front pilot wheels have been replaced. Front boiler was bad and has been smoothed out. Two original side rods are included: wheels need to be trued to install. There are replacements parts available on to take this over the finish line. So it\'s a great piece of Lionel history to run as is OR keep the restoration going and double/triple its value.
