Lot of 3 vintage cast metal Veteran star grave markers / flag holder plaques in the traditional Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.) style.
Each five-point star is marked “VETERAN” across the center with F C L lettering representing Fraternity, Charity, Loyalty, the historic motto associated with the Grand Army of the Republic and Union Civil War veterans.
Decorative military symbols are cast into the points of the stars.
Each measures approximately:
5 1/2\" tall x 6\" wide
The backs retain their original cast mounting brackets/sockets; however, the original cemetery stakes/rods are not included.
Three different examples are included. One has a darker textured center with highlighted raised lettering, while the other two have a more uniformly aged dark metal finish.
Great historical display pieces for a Civil War collection, G.A.R. collection, military memorabilia display, veterans memorial collection, or cemetery-marker collection.
Condition
Vintage/antique pre-owned condition with age-related surface wear, oxidation, patina, discoloration, scratches, finish loss and weathering.
Original mounting rods/stakes are missing.
Stake is broken off in two of them, top flag ring is broken on one, small crack and gouge.
