Offered is a lot of two antique Halloween postcards dating to the Golden Age of Postcards, circa 1910.
Both postcards were mailed (to my grandpa and his sister) and postmarked in 1910 and 1914
Card 1: embossed. All Hallowe’en Greetings Features a colorful comic Halloween scene with two red-suited pixies or elves using a large saw on a crying anthropomorphic jack-o’-lantern. Additional pumpkin-headed figures watch from behind a fence. A classic early Halloween design filled with whimsical pumpkin imagery and holiday folklore. There does not appear to be a maker name on the other card but marked "printed in Saxony" on the back.
Card 2: F. A. Owen Co Dansville, NY. Halloween No. 858. Features three black bat silhouettes flying across a moonlit sky with dramatic “Halloween” lettering below. The simple, atmospheric design captures the spooky Gothic aesthetic popular in early Halloween postcards.
They are in good condition. Both postcards have minor edge wear and the FA Owen card has stains along one edge
