These mid-20th-century mixed pieces are from a larger set that I recently listed - the original,genuine Fiesta Yellow glaze by the Homer Laughlin China Company, USA. The genuine Homer Laughlin Fiesta was made from a highly fired vitreous china body, which is a dense ceramic formulated for durability and everyday use. It has a glass-like vitrified structure that makes it stronger and less porous than ordinary earthenware.
Condition
- All pieces are without chips, cracks, or crazing.
- All pieces still have the brilliant Fiesta Yellow color with no fading.
- The three 10.5" dinner plates are the only pieces that show more usage than the other pieces, but nothing major. There is one plate that has what appears to be a production flaw (zoom in on photo #3-bottom plate ). The other pieces show very minimal to no surface wear.
- Please note: There are kiln marks on the backs of the plates (not chips). These small indentations or tiny rough spots are created during firing. Plates are stacked or supported on little ceramic or metal “stilts” inside the kiln so the glaze doesn’t fuse to the shelf. When the glaze melts and hardens, it leaves small pinpoint indentations. If you look at the backs of the plates in the photos, you will see these marks in the same location on each plate. Some are more visible than others.
Please review all photos, as they are integral to the description. The actual color may appear slightly different in the pictures due to variations in lighting conditions and screen settings, but these pieces are genuine Fiesta Yellow with no fading.
