Biography of Phra Khru Palad Thanat (Luang Pho Chanai Chanthasaro)

Luang Pho Chai(Chanai) Chanthasaro is another monk who exhibits great compassion for his disciples. He is also a virtuous monk, possessing extensive expertise in various magical arts, including incantations, yantra, and various other subjects, including tattooing, takrut making, fortune telling, and forehead gold leafing. He is also highly skilled in incantation. He is a disciple of Luang Pu Suk of Wat Pak Khlong Makham Thao. Every day, a steady stream of disciples and followers come to pay their respects. He possesses a friendly, pleasant, and straightforward disposition. Those who pay their respects are evoked by his compassion, leaving them with a sense of contentment and joy. His Buddha qualities, whether they encounter him, include invulnerability, escapism, advancement, luck, and metta mahaniyom. He is considered a highly revered disciple. Luang Por Than was born at Wat Phraya Krai in Yan Nawa District, Bangkok. He is the son of Mr. Chaliao and Mrs. Somchit Songpreedee. He is the fourth of five siblings. As a child, he was deeply interested in Buddhist teachings and studied the ways of the Buddha. At the age of 15, he practiced meditations on all aspects of the world: earth, water, wind, and fire. At 21, he served in the military for two years. Upon discharge, he was ordained as a monk in 1987. He went on a pilgrimage to Bueng Sam Phan District in Phetchabun Province. There, he learned about meditation practices from Luang Pu Waen at Wat Hin Dat Noi. He then began his serious study, traveling to various provinces, including Phetchabun, Nakhon Sawan, Lamphun, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Sisaket, and many others. Upon returning to Wat Nam Daeng, he met Ajahn Manit. Ajahn Manit was a disciple of Ajahn Yam Daeng and, in turn, Luang Pu Suk of Wat Pak Khlong Makham Thao in Chainat Province, along with three other monks. He then studied with Ajahn Manit and Luang Pu Suk. Among the monks who studied with Ajahn Manit were Luang Phi Jab, Luang Phi Thip, and Luang Phi May. Each of them acquired different knowledge. He was forced to disrobe as no one cared for his mother in 1988. In 1990, he was ordained again, disliking the secular life. He thus returned to the monastic life. This time, he became even more determined to practice, to rebuild his past lives, to release the karma of his relatives, and to practice Luang Pu Suk\'s teachings even more diligently, until he became proficient in the teachings of the Lord Buddha. He traveled from Nakhon Sawan to Nakhon Ratchasima Province and resided at Wat Mitraphop, Klang Dong Subdistrict, Pak Chong District. After four years, the district ecclesiastical chief appointed him as abbot of Wat Sap Sawong, Khanong Phra Subdistrict. In 1997, he established a tattooing practice in the tradition of Luang Pu Suk, gaining numerous disciples and becoming well-known in Pak Chong District and other provinces. After serving as abbot for 10 years, he resigned and moved to Wat Doi Noi in San Kamphaeng District, Chiang Mai Province. However, he only stayed for half a year before having to return to Pak Chong again. His disciples requested him to return, and he returned to Wat Nong Kae in Wang Sai Subdistrict, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. In late 2010, villagers from Ban Fang District, Khon Kaen Province, requested Luang Pho Chai\'s blessing and invited him to reside at Wat Pa Pho Nimit, also known as the Old Temple. Today, the forest temple, with only an old pavilion and a few old wooden huts, has transformed into a temple completely different from its former glory, complete with various religious facilities. The development has rapidly developed to this day.

... In a dream, a hermit appeared to me and offered advice on how to examine a person\'s elements, or in other words, teach them to read horoscopes. This is called examining the four elements. However, his teaching was spoken and memorized, not memorized. It was a form of meditation, and then he emerged from meditation to write it down in writing. This is what he still uses today. He lives in the same place: Nam Nao Forest Park. While walking in the forest during the day, around 4 p.m., he had to find a new place to rest every day. While walking, he didn\'t realize he was following a tiger. He saw footprints along the way to the stream. They were larger than a fist. He touched them, and they were warm. However, he had to travel that route. He crossed the stream to the other side, turned left, and walked about 20 meters, then turned right again. He was startled when he saw a large tiger walking about 50 meters ahead of him. When he regained his composure, he prayed and offered loving-kindness to the tiger. Unbelievably, the tiger turned left and disappeared, so he continued his journey. In the evening, around 10 p.m., he set up his tent and continued his various activities and meditated as usual. He carried a small Buddha image with him for his daily prayers. That night, he performed his usual religious duties and placed the Buddha image on a small bed for chanting. While chanting, he meditated until late at night. He heard a sound like something was being dragged closer and closer. He opened his eyes to look in the sleeping area. He had lit a fire, and then he saw a very large snake (try spreading your arms as far as you can, that\'s the size, not the length). It stopped in front of the Buddha image and spread its hood and bowed its head. It paid homage to the Buddha three times before turning around as if to tell him not to bother the monks who were practicing Dhamma. Then the large snake put its head down. Behind the snake, there was a very old man in white clothes, with white hair tied in a bun, sitting on the snake\'s back. His beard was very long. The large snake managed to squeeze under the bed where the Buddha image was placed. The bed was about half a cubit high and half a gap wide, but the large snake managed to slither through. It was very strange to trek through Khao Chamao, Rayong Province. It was a very difficult trek because you had to walk under a cliff face to the top. Some parts were easy to walk on.
