This board allows you to cleanly hook up your MTH TIU toyour track in Passive mode. The issue is typically just hooking up the TIUoutputs to the track the DCS signal strength suffers. It was identified byothers on the forum that a 22uh Choke put before the DCS signal to help cleanup the incoming power solved this problem and, in some cases, had better signalstrength than the standard Active mode hook up.
The board also features:
Power LED- Lets you know when power is applied if theboard is in a visible location
TMCC/Legacy Hookup- a convent spot to tie in you TMCCor Legacy signalNOTEthis does nothing to improve theTMCC/LEGACY signal
DCS signal indicator-There is now also a secondRed LED that will blink any time a signal is sent from the TIU to the track.this is a fun additional blinking light that could be used for simpletroubleshooting confirming that the TIU is sending signal to the track. Thereis also a sensitivity adjuster to allow you to tune the light for your specificTIU
TVS Diode
Power Choke-The board itself is rated to handlea constant 20A of Power. The Choke has a saturation current of 14A. The maximumcurrent rating of the coke is 28A.
This does NOT increase DCS signal only helps keep the power clean for use in passive mode, If you have bad signal in Active Mode there is no guarantee this will help For more information on using the TIU or WTIU in Passive mode I highly suggest looking at information on the OGR Forum
