Antique Postcard – Mailick Christmas, Santa Claus with Reindeer Sleigh
Artist-signed Christmas postcard by Alfred Mailick, with the greeting \"A Happy and Bright Christmas.\" Santa Claus, in a long purple robe trimmed with fur, drives a green sleigh through a snowy evening forest, pulled by two antlered reindeer. A haloed child in pale blue rides in the sleigh holding a small lighted Christmas tree, surrounded by toys, while a small figure in brown leads the way with a lantern on a pole. Glitter accents trim Santa\'s robe, the sleigh, and the harness. Signed \"Mailick\" in the lower corner. The back is marked \"Printed in Germany\" in the stamp box. Unused and unposted, with a pencil gift inscription on the back. Alfred Mailick (1869–1946) was a German painter trained at the Dresden academy, known for his hunting and animal scenes as well as his postcard designs. A great piece for collectors of antique Christmas postcards, non-red Santa Claus images, or German artist-signed cards.
