Made in the USA, this is a design-collection piece: this is the Bellini Chair, created by celebrated Italian architect and designer Mario Bellini for Heller in 1998. The design earned Bellini his eighth Compasso d’Oro award in 2001 and holds a place in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
It’s in excellent condition.
Molded as a single sculptural form in fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene, the chair has no visible frame or seams — the strength comes from hollow, engineered legs and a gently flexing backrest that gives it real everyday comfort, not just gallery looks. Debuted to acclaim at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, it remains one of the defining stacking chairs of late-20th-century design.
Finished in a soft stone/dove grey — a warm, muted neutral rather than a stark white — that reads beautifully against both light and dark interiors.
Signed and dated on the underside: “The Bellini Chair by [Bellini signature], 1998, Heller, Made in U.S.A.”
Dimensions:
Overall Height: 33”
Seat Height: 18.5”
Width: 17.25”
Depth: 19”
Ideal as a statement side chair or desk chair, it pairs beautifully with mid-century and contemporary interiors alike.
