Offered is an original Autograph Letter Signed ("Lafayette") by Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, the celebrated French aristocrat and military officer who became one of the most important foreign supporters of the American Revolution.
This multi-page letter was written at Lagrange and dated 27 July 1827. Written entirely in Lafayette's hand and signed at the conclusion, the letter concerns an industrial venture involving a threshing machine ("machine à battre"), discussing production capacity, labor requirements, costs, and implementation.
The piece retains its original folded letter format with address panel, postal markings, and seal remnants, providing excellent historical presentation.
