-Developed from a body hand-carved by Yuki Ito, the POPMAX is a larger, higher-performance evolution of the legendary POP-X. Six water intakes feed an internal water chamber: four channel water out through the flared gill plates for a splashing, chugging surface disturbance, while two feed the lower chamber to generate bubbles and keep the lure from skipping, so it can be worked fast without blowing out. On the pause, water exits the chamber and the head lifts into a classic topwater posture, ready for a sharp pop on the next twitch. With a light rod-tip action it roll-walks dynamically, combining popper and dog-walker characteristics in one bait. An internal spinal rib (BACK BONE RIB) adds impact resistance for hard casts around cover. Best around riprap and rocky banks, over grass beds, and on shallow points at first light.
