Metallica – Live In The USA 1986
Metallica pioneered the thrash metal movement with their 1983 debut album Kill 'Em All. With each subsequent release, the band expanded their musical style and eventually established themselves as one of the most influential and respected bands in heavy metal.
This release captures a rare live archive from one of the most important periods in Metallica's history.
Following the release of their breakthrough album Master of Puppets, Metallica embarked on the massive Damage, Inc. Tour, beginning in Kansas in March 1986 and continuing with more than 140 shows across North America and Europe through February 1987.
This recording captures the band's performance at the Old Mill Expo Center in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA, on May 29, 1986. The concert was recorded and broadcast by a satellite radio station.
This CD uses the audio from that original broadcast and features the complete setlist, including cover songs, the encore, and guitar and bass solos.
The performance took place during the hugely successful Master of Puppets era and features the legendary lineup of James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich, and Cliff Burton.
Cliff Burton tragically died later in 1986 in a tour bus accident in Sweden. As a result, this recording represents a particularly valuable document of Metallica's classic lineup with Cliff Burton.
