If your NEEDOH seems to have an odor (usually occurs in enclosed NEEDOHS such as cubes that are enclosed and not open to air) this is due to Off-gassing: Because the toys are highly popular and manufactured rapidly, they are often sealed in their packaging too quickly before the newly formed plastic and gel materials can properly "breathe". This causes residual VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) to become trapped inside the wrapper. They are considered safe as they are made of non-toxic thermoplastic rubber.
