Description
This is a set of six Oneida iced tea spoons in the Textura pattern, gold electroplate over stainless steel, still new old stock.
Five of the six have never come out of their factory sleeves, and the gold against that textured handle border is what a table setting is missing.
This is one of several pieces of vintage flatware I'm listing this week, so please take a look at my other listings.
What's Included
- Six iced tea spoons, all the same pattern and length
- Five still sealed in their original clear factory sleeves
- One out of its sleeve, opened only so I could photograph it
- No box, paperwork, or other pieces are included
Size
- Each spoon measures approximately 7.5 inches long
- Bowl approximately 1.25 inches across
- All six together weigh about 10 ounces
Condition
New old stock — the metal is unused.
- Bowls: mirror-bright, no scratches, no pitting, no wear at the tip
- Handles: no bends, no dents
- Sleeves: creased, slight discoloration due to age, torn at some ends, taped together at the base
- One sealed piece: a small tan mark sits over the bowl area, which looks like residue on the plastic rather than on the spoon — I have not opened the sleeve to check
- The five sealed pieces can only be seen through the plastic
Please see the photos and read the description for full details.
Markings
The reverse of each handle is stamped ONEIDACRAFT DELUXE STAINLESS. The stamp is sharp and fully legible. Oneida did not stamp the pattern name on these.
About this item
Textura is Oneida's mid-century answer to a plain handle — a fine granular texture band running the border around a smooth polished centre, with no florals anywhere on it. Iced tea spoons are the piece people come looking for to finish a service, and finding six of them unused is the part that does not come around often.
