OLD, ANTIQUE, HIGHLY DETAILED DESIGN RARE WOOL FIELD CAUCASIAN KAZAK, SHIRVAN NOMADIC KILIM, ALSO CALLED A FLAT-WOVEN ORIENTAL RUG, with a size of4' × 24'6", has a highly detailed design ... Natural dye wool woven on a wool foundation.
Rug #17691
This 4' × 24'6" wool woven rug is a very long, colorful geometric runner with a bold tribal/Kilim-style appearance.
Colors: The rug features bright orange and rust red as dominant colors, with strong ivory/cream and dark navy geometric zigzags. Additional accents include coral red, pink, turquoise/blue, emerald and olive green, golden yellow, burgundy, black, and touches of brown. The multicolored side tassels add extra texture and character. The ivory sections provide contrast and keep the many bright colors balanced.
Best rooms and placement: Because of its unusual 4-foot width and 24'6" length, it is especially suitable for a very long hallway, large entrance corridor, gallery-style hallway, upstairs landing, or long open passage between rooms. It could also make a dramatic stair runner where the staircase dimensions allow for its 4-foot width.
For a hallway, place it lengthwise on natural oak or medium walnut hardwood flooring with plenty of open floor visible around it. Warm white, soft ivory, light beige, or pale greige walls will make the vibrant colors stand out beautifully.
It can also be used as wall decoration. Because it is exceptionally long, it would make an impressive textile display mounted horizontally high on a long wall, just below the ceiling, especially in a large foyer, gallery hallway, loft, or room with high ceilings. The colorful tassels can remain visible for a decorative handcrafted effect.
Furniture and décor: Keep surrounding furniture relatively simple—natural or dark wood console tables, cognac leather, cream or beige upholstery, black iron accents, pottery, and green plants. This allows the rug's strong geometric pattern to remain the main decorative feature.
Overall look: Bold, colorful, tribal, Southwestern, bohemian, eclectic, and rustic. In a room with lots of natural daylight and neutral walls, its orange, red, blue, green, pink, and ivory details will become a striking focal point.
