WHAT IS COIL SPLITTING?
Humbuckers are built with two coils of tightly wound copper, for low noise, and high output. Coil splitting cuts the link between the two coils, so we can play with one half of the humbucker. This essentially gives us a single coil, for traditional Strat® or Telecaster® sounds.
