Original 1981 Popy (Bandai) – Made in Japan – Die-Cast

A superb and highly collectible original Japanese release of Beast King GoLion,manufactured by Popy (Bandai) for Toei Animation in

1981 and marked Made in Japan.This is the earliest and most d desirable version of the Voltron Lion Force —the Japanese GoLion

set that predates the later US Matchbox releases and iswidely regarded as the highest-quality die-cast production.

All five lions are present:

Black, Red, Blue, Green and Yellow — complete and original.

The set has been carefully assembled into Voltron todemonstrate correct fit, transformation and stability (see photos). The figure

stands well and displays beautifully. The set will be shipped disassembled forsafety.

Condition

Overall, very good to excellent vintage condition withstrong original paint, clean die-cast frames and bright chrome with only light

age-related wear consistent with careful play and display.

Please note for full accuracy:

• Black Lion is missing one 1- and one-half wings (and thereis a small something rattling around in Black Lions tummy which I suspect is ascrew for the second wing)

• Green and Red Lion rear leg joints are slightly loose butstill stand and pose correctly

Original factory labels remain present on the lionsconfirming 1981 production and Japanese manufacture.
