Original NASH Boyce Motometer Standard Deluxe RARE and NICE IT WORKS For Sale

Large and rare originalBoyce Moto-Meter radiator mounted temperature gaugefor aNash car. Harrison Boyce patented this simple gauge in 1913 and teamed with George Townsend and his Moto Meter company in New York. Millions were produced by the late 1920s when in-car temperature gauges took over.The Nash was built from 1917 to 1957 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, I do not know exact year, model, or application for this style emblem but the motometer would have been appropriate for 1917 to 1929 cars. ThisMoto MeteristheStandard DeluxeModel witha nickel plated body and nickel plated floral wreath design bezels, the body ofwhich is 3 3/8\" wide by3 3/4\" high by 1\" thick. Total height with the in-cap sensor is5 3/8\". It has thickbeveled glass lenses front and rear and theNASH logo plate is visible at the front, this logo matched the radiator emblem design. This Motometer is cosmetically very good to excellent, the logo plate and back plateare both verynice with sharp and clearlogo and lettering with no fading. The body hasone small spot of corrosion and a small crack on the left upper edgebut neither of these are structural issues. The plating is mostly intact and shiny. The beveled glass lenses areexcellentwith no nicksorscratches. The bezel trim plates are very nice withbright plating, faded original infill paint and all eight of the correct filagreed style screws are intact. The glass thermometershowssome redliquidand it does react to boiling water but I do not warrant actual operating condition.
